The Malcolm X Memorial Foundation was founded by Mrs. Rowena Moore in 1971.  Working alone, using her money to stage events commemorating his birth and death. She dreamed of constructing a major educational and cultural institution at his birth home in Omaha, Nebraska. Mrs. Moore envisioned a Malcolm X Birth-place International Center, tourist attraction and learning center, park, museum, library and amphitheater.

Currently the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation is home to several community based programs geared toward inspiring, entertaining, and informing the people of North Omaha and the greater metropolitan area that include, Mind and Soul 101.3 FM Community Radio, N.O.I.S.E Community News, 4MX Greenhouse, and the Betty Shabazz Community Garden,

Make a family night and bring the kids and your favorite board game or round up friends and make it a ladies or fellas night out. Whether you dine in or carry out, a portion of the receipts will go to benefit the Malcolm X Foundation. There will also be live music from the soulful jazz guitarist Pat Higgins along with Big Mama’s world famous soul food and delicious desserts.
